Every year we join teens from all over the Southern California District for a week of camp. That means inspiring worship, challenging speakers, life-changing decisions and memories that last a lifetime. Junior High camp usually takes place the last week of June and Senior High camp takes place the last week of July.
One of the highlights of every year is our annual weekend retreat to the mountains. Both Senior and Junior High students spend the weekend playing fun games, resting in God’s creation, and studying His Word. The time away from everyday stresses frees us up for spiritual growth and building strong relationships.
There are many chances to serve with Emmaus, including monthly trips to serve meals at the Salvation Army, the annual Family Mission Trip to Mexico, and raising money for the 30 Hour Famine.
This is our mid-week opportunity to come together for worship, fellowship, a message from Pastor Rick, and Emmaus-style soccer. You will just have to come to find out.
A chance to start your Sunday mornings off right. We meet every Sunday for fellowship, Bible study, and small groups. Both Senior and Junior High meet in the youth room for announcements, then break off into age groups for the weekly lesson.
Bible quizzing is a great ministry option for Senior and Junior High students who are willing to accept the challenge of memorizing scripture and competing with other teens all over the Southwest Region (California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Hawaii).
Small group discipleship featuring the study of a book of the Bible or a book that deepens our understanding of what it means to be a Christian. This group meets twice a month, on or off the church campus. If you want to take steps towards growing in your faith, then talk to Pastor Rick about THE WAY.
Pastor Rick is responsible for all Senior and Junior High ministries at MCN. He graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2000, then moved to Olathe, Kansas where he earned a master’s in Christian education. He has served as youth pastor of MCN since 2003. He has a beautiful wife (Catharine) and two amazing daughters (Taylor and Emma). Rick also played baseball at PLNU and enjoys most sports.
